Craft show. October 12th

I'm doing a craft show on October 6th!! October 12th!!
Ill be presenting 2 different Husker apron styles, in adult, child and American Doll sizes.

Here are the aprons with just the last step to be made. They all need pockets! Why, where else might one store their treasures while baking, if they don't have pockets? :)

I will regrettablely be unable to attend this October 6th craft show after months of prepartion, because I will be at work. The following Saturday there is also a craft show and I'm going to see if I can stop by after I get off shift and put a few of my aprons at my parents craft table !

October 13th.

Keep an ear out for details!

Rit dye: black, black skinnies

My favorite pairs of black skinnies have been fading in color, so I purchased Rit dye and gave it a go.

Before:

I attempted the bucket method just because I didn't want to bleach pots, pans, or the washer.

Ingredients:
1 Rit dye package (mixed with 2 cups boiling water)
1 cup salt
1 tablespoon detergent
2 pairs of faded black skinnies

All poured in a large plastic bin, filled with hot water

Next step: stir constantly for 10-30minutes.. I was bored after 4 minutes..

Made it to 10 minutes with a few splashes on the counter (Rit stains, so I had to quickly clean it up because I wasn't at my own house)

After the 10 minutes of soaking, I took the pants outside and sprayed them until the water ran clear..

11 pairs of disposable gloves later,
I put the the wrung out jeans in the wash for a regular wash cycle.

Cost: $1.96 at Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon

Sewing a tank: lace lace lace

Today I got the urge to make a lace tank top. I had all the supplies so my grand total was: $0.00.

I pinned the lace to an old tank top which I never wear, sewed it on and then cut out the original fabric.

It was pretty simple :)

Side note: might try cutting the fabric out first, next time, for top of the line results.

After I made the back, I knew I wanted to incorporate a little more lace. I decided a pocket would be nice to balance out the grey on the front of the tank top.

When trying it on, I recalled how the shirt was an awkward-longish length ( I now die for long shirts,) this one just fit funny, so I went for the angled bottom by twisting and sewing one corner. I had lace on my mind at this point, and I just HAD to add more. That's when I decided on a lace bow.

I cut a long strip of lace, sewed it right sides together, pulled it through, made the bow, and sewed the center, so it wouldn't fall apart. Lastly I sewed it to the shirt.

I'm pretty excited how it turned out.

It slipped my mind to take a before picture, however I took several after pictures. Just think drab-to-fab. Ha. :)

Perfect Attire: match a pair of black skinnies and glittery black Toms.

Is there anything better than lace and glitter together? Can't think of a thing!
